Non-hunting guests staying at the ranch with a hunting group will be considered on a case by case basis.
The hunting season for elk and fallow deer at Cinco Canyon Ranch runs from October 15th through February 15th. Axis, black buck and other exotics can be hunted year round. Our hunting season for native Whitetail and turkey is established each year by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department which also requires all hunters to have a valid and current Texas hunting license. If you do not have a valid Texas license we can assist you. One may be easily purchased on the way to the ranch or in Fredericksburg.
In order to promote ethical hunting practices and safety, all hunters at Cinco Canyon Ranch are required to the following:
*Guest will be charged a harvest/trophy fee if they wound an animal but no carcass is recovered. Blood tracking dogs are available for hire, or guide will make best efforts to locate your trophy.
All hunts at Cinco Canyon Ranch are fully guided by a person who is not only well versed in scoring and aging elk/deer on the hoof, but also has expertise in locating animals on the ranch. Upon harvesting an elk/deer your guide will:
Please also note that guests are responsible for the cost of meat processing, taxidermy, and any shipping cost. Cinco Canyon Ranch will be happy to transport your animal to a local processor/taxidermist at no cost. However, all other processing costs are the responsibility of the hunter.
As you can see from this website, we are avid photographers with an appreciation for the beauty of the land and the majestic nature of the elk/deer that inhabit it. We encourage our guests to bring a camera suited for wildlife photography. The photographic opportunities at the ranch are simply amazing.
